The
Kotoka International Airport in Accra is the key airport serving
the city. The airport is also the busiest in the country and a
hub for national airline Air Ghana. The Kotoka Airport is so named
after a former army Colonel Emmanuel Kotoka. The airport is situated
a short 5 km from the city centre. Transport from here is mainly
by taxi, local minibuses and buses. A number of the city’s
hotels also offer pick-up services.
Facilities at the airport include; restaurants, duty free shops,
VIP lounge, information desk, car hire, travel agencies, taxi
rank and news agency.
