Awasa:

Awasa is an Ethiopian City situated to the south of Addis Ababa. The City is the administrative capital of Ye Debub Biheroch Bihereseboch na Hizboch (Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples); one of the country’s administrative regions.

Awasa is linked to Addis Ababa by a highway and buses regularly ply the route between these two cities.

The City has a population of about 120,000 people. Feature attractions in Awasa are; Lake Awasa and the Great Rift Valley. The city also has a number of friendly local markets, restaurants and decent hotels. Fishing at Lake Awasa is a prominent economic activity for many of the town’s locals.
