People of Botswana:
The
main ethnic communities in Botswana are the Tswana, Kalanga, Basarwa
and Kgalagadi. There is also a considerable population of Europeans
residing in the country.
Botswana has a relatively small population
of just about 1.6 million people. HIV/AIDS is a serious problem
in the country and it is estimated that about 30% of the population
are living with the disease.
Languages: English is the country’s official language.
Other local languages are Setswana (widely spoken), Kalanga,
Sekgalagadi.
Religion: Christianity is the main religion. There are also
a number of traditional religions such as Badimo.
