The Flag of Comoros:
Similar
to its ever changing government structures, the National Flag
of Comoros has changed a few times in the Country’s short
history. The current version was adopted in 2003 to replace
one that had
existed since 1996. Prior to this, the Country had a different
flag that was in use since 1993 which had replaced a version
that had existed since 1978.
The four stars represent the four
islands
of the Comoros Archipelago though Mayotte is under French administration.
The crescent represents the Islam religion, while each of the
four strips represents an island; Yellow for Moheli, White
for Mayotte,
Red for Anjouan and Blue for Grand Comore.
