Tourism in Djibouti:

The Tourism industry in Djibouti is not developed near that of major tourism destinations on the Continent. The Country however has a number of unsoiled and isolated beaches which can provide a unique getaway. Other attractions include the geographical nature of the Djibouti countryside which features; ravines, lakes and plains.

A small country, most of Djibouti can be toured by road. The main airport in the Country is the Ambouli International airport in the nation’s capital Djibouti. This airport is home to local airline Djibouti Airlines and is also served by a number of airlines providing frequent flights to international destinations.

Lake Asal:

A crater lake and one of Djibouti’s feature tourism attractions, the lake is found at the lowest point of the Afar depression. The lake is the lowest point on the African continent at 155 meters above sea level. Salt extraction is an important economic activity at Lake Asal.
