Guinea Economy:

A resource rich nation, the development of the Guinean economy has been troubled mainly due to poor government policies and conflict in neighboring countries especially Liberia and Sierra Leone. The country has large reserves of bauxite, gold, diamonds and alumina. Guinea is currently one of the largest producers of bauxite in the world.

The mining industry accounts for a large percentage of the country’s economy. Agriculture is also widely practiced and produces coffee, palm kernels, bananas, pineapples, sweet potatoes and livestock.
