The Libyan Economy:

The Libyan economy relies mainly on income generate from petroleum. The country is one of the largest exporters of petroleum in Africa, blessed with generous crude oil reserves. Other major industries in Libya are; natural gas production, food processing, textiles, machinery and crude oil refining.

Due to limited natural resources, agriculture is practiced limitedly and the country has to import a majority of its food. Agriculture in Libya produces; wheat, olives, vegetables, peanuts, cattle, barley, dates.
