People of Libya:
Libya
is home to an estimated population of 5, 900, 754 people. This
is a relatively small population considering the country is the
17th largest in the world. The main ethnic groups residing in
the country are of Berber and Arab origin.
There are also small
communities
of Italians, Egyptians, Pakistanis, Turks, Indians, Tunisians,
Greek and Maltese people. Sunni Islam is the country’s main
religion observed by more than 95% of the country’s population.
Language: the country has comparably higher literacy levels
than many African nations. Arabic is the main language though
Italian and English are widely spoken in major towns and cities.
