Madagascar Flag:

The current flag of Madagascar was adapted on the 14th of October 1958, two years prior to the country’s independence from France.

The Red, Green and White colors on the flag are of historic significance and were used in the former Madagascan Empire prior to colonization. The Green color represents the Hova (a peasant class that existed during the ancient Madagascan Empire).
