HIV/AIDS
is the main health problem in Madagascar. The condition directly
affects about 2 % of the Country’s population and it is
estimated that more than 140,000 people are living with HIV/AIDS
in Madagascar.
Other health problems include food and water
hygiene and the risk of developing Malaria or Typhoid in certain
parts of the
country.
The administering of health services has improved in recent
years due to government efforts to improve public access to
medical
facilities.
Most major health care facilities including hospitals and dental
care clinics can be found in the capital Antananarivo. There
are also a number of small pharmacies selling simple prescription
medicines.
