Mali People:

The area around present day Mali was first settled by the Mande people, who established the Mali Empire. The country is currently home to an estimated population of 11,716, 829 people.

The main ethnic groups in the country are; Mande, Peul, Voltaic, Songhai, Tuareg and Moor. French is the official language in Mali and Bambara (a local language) is widely spoken. Islam is the country’s main religion and is spoken by more than 90% of the country’s people. Traditional beliefs and Christianity are also observed.
