Food in Mauritius:

The rich cultural composition of the country translates into local cuisine. Mauritian food is popular for its tantalizing flavor and is sold at cheaply at many restaurants in towns and cities. Port Louis and Grand Bay have the largest selection of foods and restaurants here serve a variety of dishes including; Indian, Chinese, French, Creole or a combination of these. Fast foods such as KFC, Pizza Hut, Fish and Chips are also available.

Food and water hygiene:

Tap water in Mauritius is safe to drink and illness due to food or water contamination is almost unheard of. For the extra cautious however, bottled water is available and sold in most shops and supermarkets.
