Morocco Currency:

The Moroccan Dirham (MAD) is the title of the Moroccan currency. The currency was introduced in 1960 to replace the Franc following the country’s independence from France. One Dirham is equivalent to 100 centimes.

Denominations: commonly used coin denominations are for; 1, 5, 10, 20 centimes and 0.5, 1, 5 and 10 Dirhams. There are also banknotes for; 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 dirham.

Currency exchange:

Foreign exchange facilities can be easily found in the major towns of Casablanca, Rabat, Tangiers and Marrakech. There are foreign exchange bureaus and the major banks in the country also handle currency exchange transactions.
