Nakuru
is the provincial capital of the large Rift Valley Province. The
City is one of the fastest growing in Kenya and is home to a number
of thriving industries including; rubber, textiles, plastics, agriculture
and tourism. The City is also the regional headquarters for a number
of local and international firms including banks and other financial
institutions. The City is also home to one of the State Houses.
Nakuru has a number of good hotels such as; the Lake Nakuru
Lodge and the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge both located at the Lake
Nakuru National Park, Hotel Kunste and Hotel Waterbuck. The City
is served by an airstrip though most flights to the Rift Valley
Region land at the Eldoret Airport.
Lake Nakuru National Park:
The main attraction for visitors to Nakuru; the Lake Nakuru
National Park is a world renowned park famous for its flamingo
population. The park also features a rich array of wildlife which
includes; white rhino, leopard, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and hippo.
