Ouagadougou:
Home
an estimated one million people, Ouagadougou is the capital and
largest city of Burkina Faso. The city is the main center for
trade and commerce in the country.
Also a major cultural centre,
Ouagadougou
hosts the Pan African Film and Television Festival; the largest
of its kind on the continent.
This event attracts a large number
of tourists to the city. Ouagadougou is also home to a number
of cultural and arts institutions. Interesting places to
visit in
the city include the Bangr Weoogo Park, L’Unite Pedagogique,
Ouagadougou Zoo and the Ouaga-Loudun Friendship Garden.
Transport: the common form of transport for many people in Ouagadougou
is motorcycle. Taxis (vans which carry a designated number of
passengers) are also common. The city is served by the Ouagadougou
International Airport. The airport is situated about 3 km from
the city centre and is served by a number of international airlines.
