Port Harcourt:
Port
Harcourt is a southern Nigerian city and the administrative capital
of Rivers State. The city is located in the Niger delta and was
founded here in 1912 as a port for use in the export of coal from
Enugu.
The city is presently a thriving industrial and
commerce center and a number of major firms are based here.
Port Harcourt’s main industries are; petroleum refining,
fishing, food processing and port activities. The city also
has a small tourism industry and there are a few decent resorts
and
hotels here. Port Harcourt is linked to inland Nigeria by rail
and road.
