Seychelles Currency:
The
Seychelles Rupee (SPR) is the title of the country’s currency.
One Rupee is equivalent to 100 Cents and coin denominations exist
for; 1, 5, 10, 25 Cents; 1 and 5 Rupees. Banknotes exist for 10,
25, 50, 100 and 500 Rupees.
Foreign exchange:
There are a number of foreign exchange bureaus and banks in
major towns that offer exchange services against major currencies.
Local papers offer information on exchange rates and it may
be necessary to shop around as commissions charged may vary.
At the time of writing (July 2006), One American Dollar was
equivalent to 5.42 SPR, One British Pound was equivalent to
10.017 SPR and
One Euro was equal to 6.85 SPR.
