The
present flag of South Africa designed by Frederick Brownell
was adopted on the 27th of April 1994 following the end of
apartheid
and to signify a new era for the country’s people.
Color definitions:
Red is for the blood spilt, White is for peace and the country’s
Caucasian people, Green is for the land, Blue is for the clear
skies, Yellow is for the mineral wealth and Black is for the
country’s African people.
