People of Tanzania:
Tanzania
has an estimated population of 37, 445, 392 people. The country
is home to more than 130 indigenous tribes mostly of Bantu origin.
Populous tribes are; Sukuma, Haya, Chaga, Nyamwezi, Gogo, Hehe,
Ngoni, Nyakyusya, Masai, Datog and Hadzabe. There are also small
populations of Europeans, Asians, and Arabs.
The main religions
in the country are Christianity, Islam and traditional beliefs.
Zanzibar is dominantly Islamic with well over 90 % of the population
here being Muslim. Swahili which is also spoken in neighboring
East African Countries is the official language here alongside
English. Arabic is widely spoken in Zanzibar and indigenous
languages are spoken by communities around the country.
