Tourism and Travel in
Tanzania:
Tanzania
has a healthy and developing tourism industry. The country is blessed
with beautiful and scenic terrain including the expansive Serengeti
Woodlands and Grasslands and Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest
peak on the African continent.
The Tanzanian coastline along the
Indian Ocean and the Zanzibar Archipelago are home to a number
of impressive pristine beaches. Warm and friendly weather conditions
here are also welcoming. Tanzania is also a peaceful nation.
Unlike many African countries, there has never been any civil
conflict
here since its independence.
The best of Tanzania:
Mji Mkongwe: a visit to Zanzibar would not be complete without
seeing the Stone Town known in Swahili as “Mji Mkongwe”.
Declared a World Heritage Site by the UN, it is situated at the
old section of Zanzibar town. Here you will find a good number
of buildings displaying traditional Swahili and Arab architecture.
Many of these date back over two centuries.
Serengeti National Park: one of the continents premier wildlife
parks. The park is situated within the Serengeti region which
occupies parts of northern Tanzania and southern Kenya. The region
also includes the Maasai Mara National Park in Kenya, Olduvai
Gorge and the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
Mount Kilimanjaro National Park: this park encompasses the breathtaking
Mount Kilimanjaro which can be reached by road from Arusha or
Moshi. The mountain is frequented by climbers and offers a fairly
reasonable challenge. Wildlife usually in thick forested areas
includes; leopard, elephant, antelope, and buffalo.
