Tunisia Economy:
Tunisia
is home to a relatively stable and growing economy. The country
has a number of natural resources which include; petroleum, natural
gas, iron ore and phosphates. Other key industries are; agriculture,
crude oil refining, tourism, food processing, footwear and textiles.
Currency:
The Tunisian Dinar (TND) is the title of the country’s
currency. The dinar was introduced in 1960 as the official
currency to replace the Franc that had been in use during the
colonial
period. One dinar is equivalent to 1,000 millimes.
While in
the country, you can obtain currency exchange services from
most major banks and foreign exchange bureaus especially in Tunis.
Most major currencies can be changed though it is advisable
to
travel with US$ which are easier to change.
