Zimbabwe
alongside South Africa is the only countries on the African Continent
that have the envied Test Status.
This means that the country plays
regular test and one-day international matches against other
leading cricket nations such as; Pakistan, India, Australia,
New Zealand,
England, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
The country has participated regularly in the cricket world
cup since its first appearance in 1983 and was one of the hosts
of the 2003 world cup together with Kenya and South Africa. There
is also a healthy provincial cricket competition in the country.
